The Dove Inn Golden Colorado | Staycation |

This was a hosted stay, all opinions are real and my own. I want to say thank you to the Dove Inn for hosting us! We had a wonderful time and will be back!

You never realize how much you need alone time and quality time with your spouse until you have it. Nick and I had the privilege of staying at a quaint Bed + Breakfast in Golden Colorado, the Dove Inn. We stayed there for two nights and let me tell you, we had the best time!! We had no agenda, no meetings to rush to, no work to be done frantically, and of course no baby to take care of. My sister was kind enough to watch baby G for the weekend so Nick and I could get some alone time, truthfully she was hoping we’d make her another nephew or niece haha. It was such a blessing to spend quality time with Nick, relax, have wonderful conversations and just slow down a bit to enjoy each other. Our lives are so fast paced and on the go, we both run businesses and of course are parents of our little guy. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in our daily lives and we get too busy to focus on each other enough. Whether you’re from out of town or you’re a local, the Dove Inn is such a perfect place to escape to. It’s in the heart of Golden, CO just minutes walking distance from main street where all the great restaurants and shops are. Golden has a beautiful river walk, large parks and great people, it’s worth taking the time to explore.

The Living Space

The Dove Inn is the perfect spot for a romantic, peaceful weekend away. It’s quaint yet modern (idk how they managed that but they did). I would say their style is a combination of antique and modern and it turned out stunning. It’s cozy, and has the perfect little details and amenities to make for a wonderful stay. They have a common area on the main level of the home that has a kitchen, coffee area and lounge area. This space was never super busy, and would be the perfect spot to curl up with a book and watch the town of Golden through the front windows. I spent a little bit of time down here when Nick was still sleeping in the mornings and I really enjoyed it.

P.S. look at that blanket, Instagram worthy, it’s too cute!

The Kitchen

Right across from the living room is the kitchen that is open to all of the guests. The kitchen is stocked with light snacks like fruit, yogurt, granola and muffins. When it comes to coffee, this place doesn’t disappoint! They have a Keurig (for the simple coffee drinker), a french press, drip coffee and cold brew on tap! The cold brew on tap was when Nick knew he loved this place, cold brew is his love language. They have different beans you can choose from and a grinder. If you love coffee you’ll be happy. If you drink cream or milk in your coffee, you might want to buy your own and store it in the refrigerator, they didn’t have many creamer options. If you’re not a coffee lover, they have other great options like hot teas you can make or even kombucha on tap. I tried the kombucha and it was delicious!

My body is so used to waking up at 6am or earlier that I was typically up around that time even though I don’t have Giulian to take care of. It seems as though I can’t sleep in anymore. This did result in me making a few friends though. Each morning I’d walk downstairs to the kitchen to get some coffee and yogurt, and there I’d find the “morning crew”. The early birds who can’t sleep in just like me! Now they were all older people but they were very friendly and it was fun to see other guests from the bed and breakfast.

The Room

We stayed in the “Aspen” room. We were pleasantly surprised from the moment we entered the room, it’s modern, updated, clean and spacious. The moment we turned the corner into the living room space and we saw that big bathtub with a gorgeous chandelier hanging above, that’s when I knew I was going to have the ultimate relaxing weekend. Next to the tub they had towels, robes and they even had a bath bomb. The room had wine glasses which was great because we had brought a bottle of wine.

The room also has a large couch to lounge on, with a big flat screen TV hanging on the wall that has access to Netflix (our favorite)! I of course made Nick watch a cheesy Christmas movie with me (is November 16th too early?!). The bathroom came fully stocked with all of the things you’d expect to see at a hotel, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We have zero complaints about the room, we truly enjoyed our stay.

As you can tell, we had a wonderful time! Again, thank you Dove Inn for hosting us, we loved it and will be back!
